For personal data collected through QookMe, SIU Labs Ltd is the data controller unless another notice states otherwise.

2. Scope of this Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect personal data when you use the QookMe website, waitlist, mobile applications, subscriptions, and related services (the "Service").

It should be read together with our Terms of Service, Refund Policy, and Health Information Consent Notice.

Waitlist and marketing data

  • Features used, recipes generated, scans performed, and interaction logs.
  • Device type, operating system, app version, browser type, IP address, session data, and crash or performance logs.

Payment and subscription data

Where paid plans are available, SIU Labs may collect and maintain QookMe subscription records, plan type, renewal dates, refund status, account status, and payment confirmation data needed to manage your QookMe account.

4. Special category health data

Some information you choose to provide may reveal health-related information, such as allergies, intolerances, disease-related dietary needs, pregnancy-related needs, eating restrictions, health goals, or medical conditions. Under UK GDPR and EU GDPR, this may be special category personal data.

We only ask for this information where it is relevant to optional personalisation features. Where required, we rely on your explicit consent to process this information. You can use core parts of QookMe without providing disease-related or health-related personalisation data, although some personalised features may not work without it.

You can withdraw this consent at any time as described in the Health Information Consent Notice.

5. How we use personal data

We use personal data to:

  • Provide, operate, maintain, and secure QookMe.
  • Create and manage your account.
  • Manage waitlist submissions and launch communications.
  • Generate recipe suggestions, meal plans, inventory insights, shopping lists, and expiry reminders.
  • Personalise outputs based on ingredients, diet, allergies, intolerances, health goals, household needs, and preferences you provide.
  • Process subscriptions, payments, refunds, and account status.

  • Send marketing communications where you have opted in or where permitted by law.
  • Improve features, reliability, safety, and user experience.
  • Detect, prevent, and investigate fraud, abuse, security incidents, and technical issues.

Where UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases:

  • Contract - to provide the Service you request, manage accounts, subscriptions, and support.

7. AI processing

QookMe uses software and AI systems to generate recipes, meal plans, inventory insights, and related suggestions. QookMe systems use the inputs you provide for the purpose of generating outputs and operating the Service.

We aim to limit personal data use to what is necessary for the requested QookMe feature.

AI-generated outputs may be inaccurate or incomplete. They are not medical advice.

8. Data sharing

We do not sell your personal data. SIU Labs uses personal data to operate QookMe, support users, maintain account records, improve the Service, protect security, and comply with legal obligations.

We may disclose personal data where required by law, court order, regulatory obligation, tax or accounting obligation, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of SIU Labs, QookMe, our users, or the public.

9. International transfers

Your personal data may be processed in the United Kingdom, European Union, United States, or other countries where SIU Labs or QookMe operations are located. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards such as adequacy decisions, Standard Contractual Clauses, or equivalent transfer mechanisms.

10. Data retention

We retain personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy.

Typical retention periods include:

  • Waitlist data - until launch communications are complete or you unsubscribe, unless we need to retain it longer for legal or security reasons.
  • Account data - while your account is active and for a reasonable period after closure.
  • Inventory, profile, and recipe data - while needed to provide your account features, unless you delete it or close your account.
  • Payment and transaction records - as required for tax, accounting, chargeback, and legal obligations.
  • Security and technical logs - for a limited period needed to protect and maintain the Service.

If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise personal data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law, dispute resolution, security, fraud prevention, or legitimate business records.
